Portable Basketball Hoops: Two Types of Basketball Systems

Different types of basketball hoops are made to be appropriate for different purposes. Most of the time, manufacturers try to give people options as to where to place it. This is why there are in-ground and wall-mounted basketball systems.

In cases wherein the basketball system has to be moved around and not set in a specific place, a portable basketball system might be best. Those who have swimming pools in their homes can also get a poolside basketball system. The two have some similarity in terms of the base and mobility.

Portable basketball system

Portable basketball systems are made for easily mobility and storage. In theory, this is true. The base of these basketball systems are usually filled up with either sand or water for better stability. Furthermore, the base is equipped with wheels. However, when the base is filled up, it can be too heavy to move.

Portable basketball hoops are not the best to be used for dunking. Kids probably can. Most feature an adjustable height mechanism so that a child can grow up with it. Portable basketball systems need to be assembled. Often enough, these will require tools for assembly.

Poolside basketball system

Poolside hoops are usually made of plastic and metal parts. Those with metal parts tend to rust over time. On the ground, these seem smaller than regular portable basketball systems. However, when one is in the pool, the height is just fine. Some of these poolside basketball hoops also have height adjustment options.

Playing basketball in the pool is a fun way to get cool during hot summer months. Some people even use these hoops like regular portable basketball systems for times when the weather is not so great for swimming.

These are two basketball systems that are rather easy to move around. Most of them are height adjustable so that kids can also have fun playing on them. The two are similar in a way because both tend to have plastic bases that can be filled up for better stability.
